Time: 8pm Location: Marcy's Cost: $30
Whisky and beer... what a great idea!!! Not our typical whisky tasting this time as we will be tasting a number of specialty beers along with the whisky.
Haven't decided on the specialty beers yet. But here's a quick rundown on the whiskies we'll be trying out:
- Singleton – Speyside, toffee notes, roasted nuts and vanilla
- Glenfiddich 21y.o. - Speyside, toffee, ginger, hints of smoke
- Laphroaig Quarter Cask – Islay, peaty with hints of orange and coconut
Definitely not the standard types of whisky for me, I know. However, I've heard excellent reviews about the Glenfiddich 21y.o. The Laphroaig is more than just peat, although there's a fair amount of smoke as well. If enough people sign up I'll think about adding another whisky. Just doesn't seem right without a fourth.
There will be appies and finger foods available between samplings to keep us going during the night. We'll head for the Academic up the street around 11, to make sure I don't get kicked out by the strata!
The amount of whisky in a bottle is limited, so is the number of people who can attend this event. The event size is cut off at 25 people, first come, first serve. Sign up early if you want to attend this event. On the downside, if you don’t sign up early, it may be canceled. We need a min of 10 people to sign up before Feb. 27. To sign up, give me a call at 778 898 0639 or send me an e-mail.
